  1. Minutes of the last meetings

The minutes for the last Parish Council Meeting on 9th July 2015 were agreed and signed as a true record of this meeting.

  1. Matters arising from the last minutes
  • Update on traffic calming proposal – we have received a response from the PCC in respect of our proposal. This to be circulated to all Parish Councillors. It does suggest that a village gateway is an option, although there are criteria to be met.
  • Layby outside the Fitzwilliam Arms – the pub has agreed to replace the sign on its wall saying “Entrance” to one that says “Car Park” – to encourage pub goers to use the pub car park rather than the layby. Once this is in place we will review its effectiveness.
  • Fibre Optic Broadband – Gigaclear is in the village at the moment and the contractors have impressed residents with the quality of their work. The village is now in the fortunate position of having two options for fibre optic broadband.
  • Transparency code – all the required information is now on the website
  • Linking to Castor and Ailsworth – both Parish Clerks are supportive of this and we will be arranging to meet after the Parish Conference.
  • Village communication list – electoral roll list has been used to identify households that are not on email – this to be checked – Tim Hawkins
